Ahead of Friday night’s match at home against Rotherham United in League One, we asked our members what three things they think The Imps need to do to pick up all three points.

Here’s what NottyImp said:

1. Play with confidence and belief. Difficult to do, right now, but we have some talented young players who have more than a little ability. They need to channel a belief in that and play to their potential.

2. Provide options. If we must play it out from the back, the midfield and forwards have to provide options for the CBs and FBs. Run about a bit, work the channels, come short! Do something!

3. Help each other out. Sometimes, players have to do the hard yards. sometimes you have to go and get the ball. Sometimes you have to run like a deranged ferret for 90 minutes with little to show for it. Hard work, as they say, is its own reward.

Will The Imps Win, Lose Or Draw Against Rotherham United?

Win

Lose

Lose

Draw

And here’s what Gratzimp said:

1. Another 3 months of playing together, so the team can gel. Too many new signings thrown together and not enough time to see how their teammates play, gave the kind of performance we saw against Southend. Stop chopping and changing the line-up, the more they play together the better it will be.

2. Someone to run the team, to be a captain. Really need an experienced head that can actually influence the players on the pitch, and spot the areas where there is potential problems, calm down the young players so they don’t go making rash challenges, giving away free-kicks in dangerous areas. Too gee up the team, should we inevitably go a goal down.

3. Support, create the 12th man again, players who came here on loan, were amazed at the strength of support, even when we were down 2 or 3-0. Difficult at the moment the way we are playing and the results that we have had, but there are signs that as long as we stay up we can turn the corner. Intimidate the other team, make them wish they had never come to Sinny Bank (sorry can’t call it any other name. Make them never want to ride on an LNER train again.
