After Saturday afternoons 3-0 win at St. James’ Park against Exeter City in Sky Bet League Two, we asked our members what three things they learned.

Here’s what NottyImp said:

1. John Akinde is going to be a very, very good signing. Once he is fully “on method”, his quality will really start to show. we’ve seen glimpses of it so far, but I think there’s a lot more to come. His finish against Exeter looked positively casual, but it was beautifully sublime.

2. There isn’t a team in this division that is capable of physically dominating us. Bostwick, Akinde and Shackell are simply too strong to be bossed around and the rest of the team can look after themselves pretty well too.

3. The current squad is a clear upgrade on the previous two Cowley squads. We’ve added depth and quality. And we will need both to ensure the momentum continues. Squad players will get a run-out in the Checkatrade and possible – depending on the opposition – the FA cup. this will build cohesion across the squad for later in the season.
