Ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s match at home against Rotherham United in League One, I asked Caz from Vital Rotherham United a few questions.

How long have you supported Rotherham United?

Been a Miller all my life – and I’m getting on a bit now!

What were and now are your hopes and expectations for the 2024/25 season?

Hoped to at least get to a play-off spot by the end of the season. Expected to finish probably just below.

What are your thoughts on your manager?

This is Steve Evans’ second time in charge of the Millers. I don’t think it’s gone as he thought.

He came in with phrases like ‘we will be pushing for a Championship place at the end of the season’, ‘we are bringing in players who will impress’, ‘Judge me after Christmas’. He gave us hope after relegation last season – we believed the hype he arrived with. We wanted him to do well. Now all we see is him standing on the touchline waving his arms about and shouting, shouting, shouting. There are calls, from the fans, for him to go but I’ll be surprised if that happens any time soon.

One(s) to watch?

Mallik Wilks – probably the only bright spark at the moment.

Where do you need to strengthen in the January window?

There are games when we could say one to eleven.

We never replaced the likes of Ollie Rathbone or Jamie Lindsay. In my humble opinion, we need some strength throughout the team and a proven goal scorer.

Which were your favourite and least favourite matches involving Rotherham United?

My least favourite are the ones we lose to our neighbours in blue and white.

There’s been a lot of games which I’ve enjoyed in the fifty plus years I’ve been following Rotherham but our Wembley wins have to be up there.

Which sides do you think will finish in the top six and the bottom four?

Top six will probably be Birmingham City, Wrexham (though they could drop off), Bolton, Wycombe, possibly Huddersfield and perhaps Barnsley have a shout too.

Any four from the bottom eight now could be in the mix to go down.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City

Family club. A team that always seems to have goals in them.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your team, who would it be and why?

At this time I’d say anyone who could put the ball in the net.

What is your prediction for this match?

There will probably be goals – I’ve gone 2-2 but I’m not that confident.
