Steve Tilson’s options are getting less due to a number of injuries in the match against Stevenage.

With Delroy Facey already sidelined for the rest of the season the last thing Steve Tilson wanted was a queue of players at the physios door.

On Saturday three more players joined the list, the most serious of those being Luke Howell who pulled up with a recurrance of his hamstring problem early in the first half.

Stephen Hunt was next to pull up with an ankle problem. The on loan Notts County defender shouldn’t be out too long and is likely to stay at the bank for a further month as his loan gets extended once more.

Of more worry was the injury to top scorer Ashley Grimes who got a wack on the back of his ankle, without his goals this season City could well be staring at the Abyss.

Tilson is candid about the situation and should the Imps already had the 50 points in the bag he would have waited until the summer before bringing in any more players.

Speaking to the Lincolnshire Echo he now says he may have to increse his spending this season to ensure the Imps get over the line: ‘We are over budget at the moment and, in an ideal world, had we reached the 50 points total I would not be looking to bring anyone else in.’

Adding: ‘We are tight on the ground and because I am short in certain areas then I may have to have a look.’
