Swindon Town 0-1 Lincoln City: Match Stats, Highlights & Views From The Forum

|

Views from Merthyr Imp following Tuesday night’s 1-0 win away at Swindon Town in League One: “Watching that game I was glad I wasn’t a Swindon supporter.

Even if we made rather hard work of winning the game we never looked like losing it.

The second half, there were still too many poor final balls, but it was an improvement on the first half.

Even if Montsma hadn’t got the goal he would still have been man of the match for me – he looked a different class. Jackson also hardly put a foot wrong.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s not convinced by Gotts at right back.

Scully was very disappointing, and despite the usual feeling that Grant does better in the centre of midfield, I thought he looked a lot better tonight when he took Scully’s place on the left. Good performances from Bridcutt, and Hopper in the second half.”

hulloutpost: “Phew. Hard work but a better second half. Whatever you say it’s four points and two clean sheets on the road so credit for that. Still, an emerging, evolving side so plenty to be positive about with plenty to work on.”

PerthImp: “Better second half but still slightly misfiring. The important thing is we got the one chance and it was enough for the three points. Swindon not really enough quality to break us down, though they worked very hard. On to the next one. Up the Imps.”

Impish: “Very bitty performance but that extra quality we had was the difference over the 90. I dare say Swindon were very threadbare and lacking of any major threat, also very cynical in lots of the challenges. Away points anywhere are decent especially when you haven’t played as well as you can do and that’s 4 in two games.

I am glad we have the best defensive record in the division now to spare the blushes of our weak keeper Palmer eh Mr Venkman!”
