As a young boy of 10 Scott Spencer took up football with Oldham Athletic and rejected a move to Bolton Wanderers in 2005. He then joined Everton but in 2006 the 22 year old but was released by the Blues in 2009.

He had a short period with Rochdale and impressed on trial in 2010 to gain a contract at Southend under then manager Steve Tilson, name sound familiar.

Lo and behold he is now on loan at Lincoln City and if Tilly sees something in him it’s Southend’s Paul Sturrocks loss!

The news broke apparently on the on the player’s Twitter page where he posted the following: ‘Thank you to all the SUFC fans for the support this season, I wish the lads all the best, now let’s kik on at LCFC….cum on the IMPS’

Since then the Official City website has confirmed the striker knows as ‘Screech’ to Saarfend fans has signed a deal until the end of the season with an option for a further year.

Ones assumes if we are still in League 2 but the way the Tilly Transformation is taking shape we should be OK
