This will be the first time David Rock has been the man in the middle for a match involving Stevenage, and his twelfth match involving Lincoln City.

His most recent match involving City was the 1-1 draw away at Charlton Athletic in League One last season when he showed 7 yellow cards, including bookings for Sean Roughan, Paudie O’Connor, Ethan Erhahon and Ben House. He also refereed the 3-0 win away at Cambridge United earlier that season, showing 4 yellow cards, including bookings for Alex Mitchell and Jack Vale.

He received an average rating of 7.55 following the 3-0 win away at Cambridge United. Some of the comments can be found below:

libertine: “9. Spot on in most situations and it would have been easy for him not to give our penalty having just booked their player for diving, but he got it right.”

Chesterimp: “7. Well above muppet status, Cambridge fans may take a different view after his free kick ‘involvement’.”

Scotimp: “8 Pretty good; I was surprised when he booked Ahadme for diving, but I will have to watch it again.”

So far this season, he has refereed four matches, showing 21 yellow cards (5.25) and 1 red card. He was most card-happy in the League One encounter between Cambridge United and Crawley Town (0-1) when he brandished 8 yellow cards. His only red card came in the League Cup match between Swansea City and Gillingham (3-1) when he sent off Euan Williams for the visitors.

David Rock oversaw a total of 37 matches during the 2023/24 season, showing 132 yellow cards (3.57) and 10 red cards. He showed 8 cards on two occasions: Barnsley 7-0 Port Vale (8 yellow cards) in League One and Colchester United 5-4 Notts County in League Two (7 yellow cards and 1 red card).
