Views from Merthyr Imp following last night’s 1-0 win away at Shrewsbury Town in League One: “A good first half hour or so, not to the same standard after that, but we looked more like scoring in the second half than Shrewsbury did, with their two best chances coming in the first half. Overall, a deserved win.
We didn’t miss Jackson or Walsh tonight, and there were lots of good performances all round, with maybe McGrandles the best player.”

More views from the Match Thread:
Chesterimp: “These 1-0s are a bit nerve-shredding, particularly when Shrews had more space in the 2nd half, but we saw it out comfortably in the end.
McGrandles terrific in midfield, Grant lasted 90 minutes, Morton turning into the Ginger Hopper, Montsma imperious.
We had a good 90+minutes elsewhere, Marquis’s ‘hat trick’ helpful!”
JT_LCFC: “Another good slick display, arguably should have gone for the throat first half. But in truth never looked like losing the or any other serious pressure.
Watching iFollow and listening to the commentary, I felt Horton and Makepeace were trying to make it more edgy than it was.”
Thank you to Graham Burrell and Lincoln City Football Club for the photograph!
