He received an average rating of 6.11 following the 2-0 defeat away at Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup in November. Some of the comments can be found below:

sedgleyimp: “I thought he was a little whistle happy in what wasn’t a tricky game to referee. Seemed to like to explain things for an unnecessarily long time. That one with Grant seemed to go on so long I thought it was the wife telling me the same thing five or six times in quick succession again.

He didn’t affect the result though and no major mistakes. 5/10 for me”

plumbob: “After him stopping the game before it started, I thought he was going to be dreadful. To be fair, he did OK.

7/10.”

Chesterimp: “4.

Too fussy, too quick with the yellows. He and his assistants missed some basic stuff and allowed Plymouth – especially Nouble – to illegally close down free kicks unhindered.”

hulloutpost: “A little bit inconsistent with the cards but otherwise generally got the decisions correct, so a 7.

With one or two notable exceptions the referees seem to have been better this season thus far.”
