Having impressed in the reserves late last season Iffy liked what he saw and invited Sam back so that Jacko could run the rule over him. Sam smashed 19 goals last term for the Gingerbreads, despite missing part of the season after a car crash, and would command some kind of fee as he is under contract until next season. As a Lincoln lad the Imps are his dream move after Forest allowed him to slip the net. The big City United game earlier this month also saw him play against another ex club.

With Peter Jackson taking him under his wing the lad looks set for a bright future after rumours he had got in with the wrong crowd at a previous club.

In other news, Master Giddings has departed and Owen Warlowe scored on his loan debut at Kettering.
