Q – How long have you been following the Mighty Imps and what was your first game?

A – My first game was a testimonial against Chelsea in 1973, first regular season was 76/77 when I found someone to take me (one season too late grrr) and I got my 1st season ticket in 78/79, which should have told me something as it must have been one of the worst seasons we have had. I remember we won the 1st game, and the next game we won was Boxing Day!

Q – What is your most memorable moment as an Imp? Good and Bad.

A – Best moment split between beating Wycombe to clinch the Conference title and Yeo scoring at S****horpe in the playoff semi.

Worst, again split between the Swansea game when we were relegated from the league, although I wasn’t there and the coverage wasn’t so good as it is today so was only afterwards it sunk in and as a young(ish) lad going down to West Ham for a Cup Replay all excited to find the game called off as we arrived at the game or on a different track going on the supporters coach to Southend for a top of the table clash and for some reason the coach dropped us off in Southend town centre about midday. Trying to hide for 2 hours in Southend wasn’t easy, ended up outside the Police Station as I recall.

Q – Since you have been following LCFC, what would your best eleven be?

A – A difficult one trying to compare different era’s, although a fair few players from the best team I have seen in the early 80’s :-

Felgate
Bailey
Neale
Peake
Thompson
Ainsworth
Cockerill
Cumming
Puttnam
Harford
Hobson

Subs
Grotier
McCombe
Shipley
Gain
Yeo

Would like to see this team turn out at their peak I must admit.

Q – Who is your all-time favourite player?

A – Gareth Ainsworth.

Q – Who is your current favourite?

A – Too old to have favourites now! If pushed after recent departures would say Scott Kerr purely because he gets stuck in!

Q – What would you say is the best goal you have seen The Imps score?

A – A Malcolm Dunkeley volley and a solo goal by Gary Lund stick out.

Q – Best away ground visited?

A – Probably KC Stadium.

Q – What are your thoughts on the rumoured stadium plans?

A – What stadium plans?? Open minded really, I do like the City Centre location and am not keen on soulless grounds in industrial estates however if there are benefits to the club then why not.

Q – Which player(s) would you like to see us sign (realistically)?

A – I’ll leave that to the management team as I don’t pretend to know all the League 2 players or Championship reserves however Boulding did impress me last season when I saw him.

Q – What are your thoughts on how last season ended and how did it compare to your expectations?

A – Well it ended really well it was the start that was the problem! I suppose it was inevitable that we would be due a bad season. We had defied the odds by continually reaching the playoffs where a lot of clubs have suffered the season after a playoff failure so the good thing was it wasn’t a terminal failure i.e. we weren’t relegated.

Q -What are your expectations for season 125

A – To be challenging for promotion. I think we have the right management team in place, however, ask me the question again when we have signed a few more players.

Q – Where do you sit and why?

A – Co-op about half-way line, half-way up. Originally because it was the nearest to where I used to stand, but generally get an all round good view from there. When I first started going used to stand at the wall at the front, got a good close-up of some crunching tackles in those days.
