Lincoln and Plymouth meet for the 45th time on Saturday, Lincoln holding sway with 17 wins to Plymouth’s 14. The very first meeting proved a notable one, as the Second Division Imps went down 4-1 to their Southern League hosts on 10 January 1914 in front of an excellent crowd of 18,260. This is the third time the two clubs have been drawn together in the FA Cup, and the second occasion was hardly memorable for the Imps either: a shocking performance by Gary Simpson’s side saw them four down by half time, eventually losing 5-0 on 20 November 2013. Despite those disasters in the FA Cup, City do have seven wins at Home Park in league football.
