Lincoln and Gillingham did not meet for the first time until 1963 due to the geographical structure of the original Third Division. They have played each other regularly since that time, although curiously they have never been drawn together in a cup competition. Gillingham have the advantage with twenty wins to Lincoln’s seventeen due to a dominant record during the last quarter of a century: Lincoln have beaten Gillingham only four times in the last fourteen games. Tuesday evening will see the fiftieth meeting between the two clubs.
