The last time The Imps hosted tomorrow’s opponents Ipswich Town was on Saturday 24th October 2020. City won 1-0 that day, with Jorge Grant scoring the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 77th minute. The visitors finished with 10-men when former Imp Jon Nolan received a straight red for a foul on Harry Anderson (90+5′).

Ahead of tomorrow’s match, we have done a Q&A with an Ipswich Town supporter, so thank you to Chris for answering our questions!

You can discuss what has been said in this article HERE, as well as many other topics on our 100% Imps forum! Every page view helps raise money for Lincoln City Football Club!

How long have you supported Ipswich Town?

My first game was in 1993 as a 5-year-old so 28 years-ish.

Where did you finish last season?

9th sadly.

What do you think of your manager?

It’s early days, but I hope he can turn it around after our poor start. He needs a bit of time.

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2020/21 season?

Hopefully promotion. With the team we’ve put together, we should be up there at the end of the season.

One(s) to watch?

Macauley Bonne has started well. And hopefully, Bersant Celina will be making his second debut for us.

Which teams do you think will finish in the top six in League One?

Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham, Portsmouth, Wigan, and Ipswich.

Which teams do you think will finish in the bottom four in League One?

Morecambe, Cheltenham, Fleetwood, and Shrewsbury.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

A well-run club that have done well to climb the leagues and cement yourself in League One.

What do you think the score will be?

3-2 to Ipswich.

Random fact about your Club?

We’ve never lost at home in Europe, 31 matches including the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter Milan, and AC Milan.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your own team, who would it be and why?

A fit Teddy Bishop. Absolute baller.

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as an Ipswich Town supporter?

Proudest moment was when we beat Inter Milan in UEFA Cup back in 2001.

One of the most embarrassing was being taught a lesson by Lincoln in the FA Cup a few years back.

Who would you say is your most underrated player?

It’s hard to say at the moment because we’ve brought 19 new players into the club who Were quite highly rated.

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

We have a community trust which basically gets as many people involved in sports as possible.

Which was your favourite match involving Ipswich Town?

In February 2003, our former Assistant Manager Dale Roberts passed away. Our next game was against Sheffield United. We were down to 10 men after 20 minutes, and 2-0 down at half time. We fought back and won 3-2 with an 88th min winner. Amazing game and a great tribute.

Which was your least favourite match involving Ipswich Town?

Losing to Norwich is always bad but losing 5-1 at home tops the list.

Do you have a Former Players Association at Ipswich Town?

No, I don’t think we do.

What is the best thing about Ipswich?

The stadium of course. The docks are pretty nice too.

We know that there are people that would like to contribute towards the development of The Stacey West Stand but won’t be able to put in the minimum of £500.00 towards the bond, so this is a great way to raise some money together and donate to this project!
