“Proud to be an Imp. Amazing game.”

Views from PerthImp following tonight’s 4-2 defeat at home against Premier League side Everton in the Second Round of the Carabao Cup: “Proud to be an Imp. Amazing game. You could see the difference in class, occasionally, but boy did we give them a game. Two brilliant goals, especially by Andrade, beating the England GK all ends up both times. Hope we can get a signing/loan or two over the line as we did look tired towards the end and I’m sure DC didn’t really play his ‘strongest’ side as he needed to protect a few players before Saturday. Great night – well-done Imps.”

NottyImp: “What a fantastic game of football that was.

Superb, all-in performance from the Imps.

Having that on Sky won’t do our reputation any harm as a watchable team.

Hope the lads can recover for Saturday.”

JT_LCFC: “Imps fantastic, great start and then held a great shape and only done in open play in the last ten minutes. Going into Saturday we still made changes, and managed the subs well to give Shacks, Morrell and Payne a breather.

Everton can play the cup down all they like but they were rattled tonight, and you don’t celebrate a 3rd goal like that if you haven’t been in a game.”

Norfolk Imp: “We haven’t seen a side in the class of Everton in decades down the Bank, they knocked it about superbly, which is testament to how well the Imps competed for 80 mins …. crowd were superb throughout and the roar when Bruno equalised was something else.”

berksimps: “What a great game and a fantastic display from all involved. It made us all so proud watching down here.

The two wonderfully taken goals from Harry and Bruno were the highlights, but there was a real fighting spirit throughout against a crack Premiership side. A great atmosphere at Sincil Bank and good to see a full Stacey West.

Bodes well for a return to winning ways at the weekend. Up the Imps.”
