Which Lincoln City manager also managed Portsmouth?

This will only be the second time Sam Purkiss has been the man in the middle for a match involving Lincoln City:

01/12/20: Lincoln City 2-1 Wigan Athletic (League One) – 2 yellow cards

TOTALS: Matches: 1 Yellow Cards: Red Cards: 0

He received an average rating of 7.93 following the 2-1 win at home against Wigan Athletic in December 2020. Some of the comments can be found below:

sedgleyimp: “For me he was excellent. Not really difficult to referee but he controlled it throughout with a calmness. Booked their keeper rightly for time-wasting and just seemed to have the game in his pocket all match. Even that little scuffle at the end he just controlled in a very calm and controlled manner.

9 for me. Best we’ve had so far.

WellingtonImp: “Thought he was a bit generous to Wigan, but then went on to make some well-balanced decisions.

Not an attention seeker or fussy.

Got himself in the way a couple of times breaking up Imps moves, without bringing playback.

7.”

PerthImp: “7 for me. Didn’t make any major bloomers but got in the way a couple of times, once when we were building nicely (isn’t he supposed to stop play and give us an uncontested drop ball when the ref messes up like that?).”

We all know and understand any referees can get things wrong but Sam Purkiss must be the most incompetent referee I have seen for a long time!

I can’t make up my mind if he is incompetent or just weak and influenced by players play-acting. or just likes the attention – because he is well known for waving cards about.

I would be surprised if anybody could see any reason for a red card and debatable if he should even have shown any card.

You can be sure when Keny Jackett complains about a referee he was a poor referee.

The sad thing is the commentators on the radio had been talking about his love for booking people before the game even got started.

A top of the table clash totally ruined for thousands of people by a poor decision by a card happy referee.
