Having been sidelined with a hamstring injury for nearly three weeks Mustapha Carayol is likley to travel to Bury on Friday and may be on the bench giving the Imps boss a welcome boost as City look for another three points to ensure League 2 survival.

The 21 yearl old Gambian was just starting to show some of his early season form when he pulled up playing against his former club Torquay.

Tilson, speaking to the Lincolnshire Echo updated the situation with regards Carayol: ‘Mustapha is coming on nicely and I am hoping that he is back in training tomorrow.’

The tricky winger has become a favourite at Sincil Bank and Steve Tilson has said that he could be a revelation at League 2 level and just needs to work on his consistency.

As to his chances of playing on Friday? Tilson commented: ‘If he comes through unscathed, then while he won’t be ready for a start, he could be available to start the game on the bench.’

With Adam Watts also available for selection following his recovery from illness the Imps should not fear Bury following their good performance away at Crewe Alexandria last Saturday.
