Will Finnie has been in the middle for three matches involving Lincoln City:

26/12/19: Oxford United 1–0 Lincoln City (League One) – 4 yellow cards
09/01/21: Lincoln City 1–1 Peterborough United (League One) – 7 yellow cards and 1 red card
17/04/21: Bristol Rovers 0-1 Lincoln City (League One) – 7 yellow cards and 1 red card

TOTALS: Matches: 3 –– Yellow Cards: 18 –– Red Cards: 2

Finnie qualified as a match official in February 2009 and he quickly made it to Level Four by the age of 18 in 2013.

He was promoted to the National List of Referees ahead of the start of the 2019/20 season after just one season in the National League. During his only season in the National League, he oversaw 22 matches, showing a total of 80 yellow cards and 9 red cards.

He received an average rating of 4.55 following the 1-0 win away at Bristol Rovers last season. Some of the comments can be found below:

sedgleyimp: “I’ll give him a 4. I think Rovers made it a very difficult game for him, but he didn’t put his control on their tactics early enough. Still don’t see how Johnson got a yellow (Edun’s I do understand as he did grapple their player). Didn’t shirk the red to their player to be fair, plus identified an outstanding tackle by one of their defenders in the box, which was very similar to a penalty we were awarded at MK Dons back in September.

Just never quite had the required control over the match.”

plumbob: “6, I don’t think he will want another game like that in a hurry. He tried to get a grip, sadly Joey and the gang were intent on making it horrible.”

PerthImp: “4/10. A really difficult game to referee – a fight interspersed with a football match, didn’t have total control over Rover’s assaults on our players, but if he had stopped the game for every offence there would have been about 20 mins Additional time.”

Will Finnie: 2021/22 Stats:

07/08/21: Charlton Athletic 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday (League One) – 4 yellow cards
10/08/21: Rotherham United 1-2 Accrington Stanley (EFL Cup) – 4 yellow cards
14/08/21: Portsmouth 2-0 Crewe Alexandra (League One) – 1 yellow card
24/08/21: Brentford 3-1 Forest Green Rovers (EFL Cup) – 1 red card

TOTALS: Matches: 4 –– Yellow Cards: 9 –– Red Cards: 1

Will Finnie was the man in the middle for a total of 33 matches last season, showing 92 yellow cards and 5 red cards.

He showed 8 cards on two occasions last season, both in League One: Lincoln City 1-1 Peterborough United (7 yellow cards and 1 red card) and Bristol Rovers 0-1 Lincoln City (7 yellow cards and 1 red card).

Finnie was the referee for 27 matches during the 2019/20 season. He showed a total of 102 yellow cards and 3 red cards.

He was just a little card happy in the League Two encounter between Plymouth Argyle and Oldham Athletic (2–2) when he showed 9 yellow cards.

Finnie oversaw a total of 22 matches during the 2018/19 season, all in the National League, showing a total of 80 yellow cards and 9 red cards.

He showed 9 cards on two occasions last season: Boreham Wood 1–0 Barnet (9 yellow cards, including one for former Imps loanee Charlee Adams) and Bromley 2–1 Leyton Orient (8 yellow cards and 1 red card).
