The last time The Imps faced tomorrow night’s opponents Gillingham at Priestfield Stadium was on Saturday 16th November 2019, in front of a crowd of 5,567, including 453 Imps. The hosts won 1-0 that day, thanks to a strike from Mikael Mandron in the 24th minute.

Ahead of tomorrow night’s match, we have done a Q&A with one of their supporters, so thank you to Darren for answering our questions!

You can discuss what has been said in this article HERE, as well as many other topics on our 100% Imps forum! We have also published a Lincoln City v Gillingham Quiz, which can be found below the answers. Every page view helps raise money for Lincoln City Football Club!

How long have you supported Gillingham?

18 years.

Where did you finish last season?

10th.

What do you think of your manager?

He has done a brilliant job for us last year but we’ve been too inconsistent this season. The train is starting to get back on track. As a person, I don’t think he’s as bad as feared when he came in and seems to have great contacts in the game, which our club needs.

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2020/21 season?

Hope is there’s still enough time to try and push for playoffs but we’ve been too inconsistent and have a small squad so mid-table mediocrity is the expectation.

One(s) to watch?

Jordan Graham, Olly Lee and Kyle Dempsey.

Which teams you think will finish in the top six in League One?

Yourselves, Hull, Pompey, Peterborough, Oxford and Charlton.

Which teams do you think will finish in the bottom four in League One?

Burton, Rochdale, Wimbledon and Bristol Rovers.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

Having a good season and deservedly sitting just off the top of the league.

What do you think the score will be?

1-1.

Random fact about your Club?

Ian Rush scored his first league goal against Gillingham.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your own team, who would it be and why?

Tom Hopper as we need a striker! Due to injury we currently only have 2 recognised strikers at the club.

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as a Gillingham supporter?

Proudest: winning League 2 in 2013 and winning the play-off final in 2009.

Embarrassing: getting relegated seemingly against all odds in 2008 against an already relegated Wycombe. About 5 results went against us to send us down.

Aside from that, defeats to Brackley (twice!) and Burscough in the FA Cup.

Who would you say is your most underrated player?

Vadaine Oliver. Although he has got in Team of the Weeks recently, I don’t always think he gets the credit he deserves and some of the stuff he does goes unnoticed by some fans.

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

I believe we do but don’t know much about them in all honesty.

Which was your favourite match involving Gillingham?

It is hard to pick one! Favourites include a 3-0 away win against Millwall in 2014, beating the same opponents 4-3 at home in 2003 and winning against then Premiership Charlton 3-2 in the FA Cup.

Which was your least favourite match involving Gillingham?

Probably the cup matches mentioned in the embarrassing moment’s section. Losing 3-0 away to Oxford last season and only having one shot on target was closest I have ever come to leaving early.

Do you have a Former Players Association at Gillingham?

No.

What is the best thing about Gillingham?

Other than the stadium there are some nice parks such as Riverside and The Strand.

Has the club put any thought into covering that Alpine away open end at your stadium?

No, it has been ‘temporary’ for about 16 years now, so it’ll be booking its driving lessons next year! Scally has also spoken about moving Stadium, probably for the same length of time, so I can’t see anything being done to it.
