How long have you supported Charlton Athletic?

Since around 95/96.

Where did you finish last season?

We just missed out on play-offs to Oxford on the last day of the season.

What do you think of your manager?

Very positive mindset. Although, under pressure at the moment, as it’s been a poor start. But with players gaining fitness, hopefully, we can turn a corner.

What are your hopes and expectations for the 2020/21 season?

Well, at the beginning was top six. Now, we just need to put a decent run together and gain consistency.

One(s) to watch?</strong

Jonathan Leko. Very quick and direct.

Which teams do you think will finish in the top six in League One?

Can’t see anything other than a Sunderland/Wycombe top two.

Which teams do you think will finish in the bottom four in League One?

I think Shrewsbury and Crewe may struggle this year.

What are your thoughts on Lincoln City?

Had a very good season last year. Fell away a bit towards the end. Surprised that you’re not higher in the table, albeit losing a couple of players.

What do you think the score will be?

I’ll go for a 2-2 draw. We score, but we’ve been leaky at the back.

Random fact about your Club?

8th highest attendance in English football. Charlton v Aston Villa. 75,031. Feb 1938.

If you could steal one Lincoln City player for your own team, who would it be and why?

Most would say Anthony Scully, but I like Bridcutt. Experienced pro. Also has the ability to dictate the tempo of a game.

What are your proudest and most embarrassing moments as a Charlton Athletic supporter?

Proudest was 98 Wembley, with the memorable game against Sunderland.

Most embarrassing would be being relegated into L1 the first time. Not because it’s L1. Just the way we were as a club at that point in time.

Who would you say is your most underrated player?

Connor Washington may not be in everyone’s starting 11. But he offers clever movement up top. But unfortunately, to get the best out of him, I think he needs to be up top in a two. Which we very rarely have two up top. We tend to have one out and out striker and two wingers.

Do you have a Supporters Trust and what role do they play at the Club?

CAST’s stated mission is to protect, preserve and promote Charlton Athletic Football Club for this and future generations. We are a membership organisation, constituted democratically and affiliated to the Football Supporters’ Association plus fall under the auspices of the Financial Conduct Authority.

The formal aims of CAST (as set out in the constitution) are:

• to be the vehicle through which a healthy, balanced and constructive relationship between CAFC and its supporters and the communities it serves is encouraged and developed
• being the democratic and representative voice of the supporters of CAFC and strengthening the bonds between CAFC and the communities it serves
• achieving the greatest possible supporter and community influence in the running and ownership of CAFC

Which was your favourite match involving Charlton Athletic?

Probably beating Arsenal 4-2 at Highbury in the Premier League.

Which was your least favourite match involving Charlton Athletic?

When Spurs sent us down from the Premier League. I had a lot of Spurs friends at school!

What is the best thing about Charlton?

Very close to Greenwich and quick journey into the centre of London.

What an amazing structure that side terrace. I used to be in total awe when it came into view after walking from the station and turning onto the street that led to the ground. Why did you not keep the terrace?

By 1985, The Valley had fallen into physical decline and out of the hands of the club – a combination that would have a devastating effect. On September 7th, 1985, fans arrived in SE7 for the Addicks’ game against Crystal Palace to be informed by a leaflet that the club would be leaving their home and would take up residence at Selhurst Park, home of the opponents that day.
