Northampton Town (a): Who Would Be In Your Starting XI?

I’ve only managed to attend one game this pre-season, so it would be pretty difficult for me to choose a starting XI for Saturday’s first League game of the season against Northampton Town.

So, here’s what some of our members have said:

hulloutpost: “I simply cannot pick my starting 11 or formation. This has to be a good sign as to how far we have come from the end of last season when the team was out on its feet and picked itself. If some of us are having problems hopefully DC is clear and this just adds to the smoke screen for Northampton. The following would definitely be in my 11 allowing for known/suspected injuries – Vickers, Eardley, Wharton, Toffolo, Frecklington, McCartan, Andrade. I’m still four off a side and no clue on the formation. Exciting and interesting times personally as I am normally very decisive but not this year.”

Actually, I’m not sure….but that is very droolworthy.”

Rasenimp: “Absolutely don’t have a clue. Think Rhead might be on for the last thirty. I couldn’t even guess the formation and I’m not sure how you get Andrade/Mccartan and Green/Akinde in the same team. Going to assume no Bostwick, but that makes the 4-3-1-2 quite unlikely as we don’t have three CMs to play that system I don’t think without him.

Or even the narrow 4-3-3 with basically three forwards from last season. Don’t expect that though and don’t see Akinde fitting it well. Plus no Bozzy and it looks light in midfield:
