He received an average rating of 5.575 following the 2-1 win at home against Northampton Town last season. Some of the comments can be found below:

sedgleyimp: “Bit of a mixed bag for me. Just a bit too fussy in general but probably (with Lincoln goggles on) got the penalty shout right and generally okay but slightly annoying.

5.5 for me.”

Chesterimp: “5 reffed us a lot in recent years, improved from his early “I’m the star” performances to be a solid L1 ref. This was a bit of a relapse, too fussy and drove the match thread nuts in the first half blowing for petty fouls, breaking up the rhythm of the game when he could have let the game flow.

Let us off the hook with that foul and possible penalty at 1-0.”

PerthImp: “6 – wasn’t that bad. A bit over-fussy at times but there were times when he didn’t seem to exert control, eg allowing their injured player to roll back onto the playing area when he was outside it, holding up play to allow their player to tie his boot laces, etc. Not sure about the penalty decisions as I didn’t get a close enough view but their players didn’t protest and that was significant to me.”
