Match Reports – Official Club Websites
Lincoln City OS:
“Jimmy Smith had given the home side the lead before Matt Green leveled early in the second half, but Josh Payne scored from the penalty spot and that was followed up by Mark Connelly.
The Imps started brightly and were almost in front in under two minutes, a wicked cross by Tom Pett on the left was flicked by Josh Yorwerth and almost inadvertently past his own ‘keeper but it crept just wide of the far post. Crawley were quick to get the ball forward, utilising the pace of Enzio Boldewijn, his low cross to the edge of the box was hit first time by Josh Payne, but Luke Waterfall stood in the way of the shot as things opened up somewhat.”
MATCH REPORT : Crawley Town V The Imps
Crawley Town OS:
“The hosts only had Jimmy Smith’s goal to show for their first-half superiority and Lincoln drew level early in the second half through Matt Green.
But two goals in four minutes put Crawley back on track for their eighth win in ten games and lifted us up to ninth, just two points off the top seven.
Josh Payne converted a penalty after Enzio Boldewijn was fouled before Mark Connolly got on the end of a free kick from substitute Jordan Roberts in the 71st minute to seal victory from close range.
Josh Doherty, Josh Yorwerth and Thomas Verheydt returned to the starting line-up as Harry Kewell made three changes to the side beaten at Luton in midweek.”

Match Reports – What The Newspapers Say
“Lincoln City crashed to their first defeat since New Year’s Day as Crawley Town continued their ascent up the League Two table with a 3-1 victory.
The Imps deservedly trailed 1-0 at the break after Jimmy Smith’s close-range strike.
Manager Danny Cowley had to watch the second half from the stands after being dismissed by referee Trevor Kettle after the half-time whistle.
But he initially saw an improved performance, with Matt Green making it 1-1 soon after the break.”
Danny Cowley sent to the stands as Lincoln City are beaten by Crawley Town
“Crawley Town showed grit to beat Lincoln 3-1 and move two points from a play-off spot this afternoon.
Reds played great football in the first half and deserved their advantage, but had to work for their fifth consecutive home win in the second period.
It was a heated affair, with heavy challenges all day and Imps manager Danny Cowley being sent to the stands for a half-time tunnel bust-up with Reds players.
Crawley took the lead when captain Jimmy Smith mopped up Lewis Young’s piledriver from range.”
Reds move within two points of League Two play-offs
