McAuley In Northern Ireland Squad

Lincoln City player Gareth McAuley has earned a call up into the Northern Ireland squad for their upcoming international friendly game against Portugal on November 15th.

The defender also featured in the squad for Northern Irelands World Cup qualifying matches against Wales and Austria although he missed the victory over England. .

We just need to hope we beat the MK Dons in the FA Cup first round, if we draw the replay would be played on the same night as the friendly and would mean he would be missing!


The 25-year-old said: “Making my international debut against Germany was probably the best feeling I’ve had in football. I was just so proud, especially with my family in the stand. Playing for your country is different class and you can’t really top it.”
