Former Lincoln City loanee Jordan Maguire-Drew has joined fellow League Two side Coventry City until the end of the season after having his year-long deal with the Imps cut short at Christmas.
Big things were expected of the Brighton winger after arriving at Sincil Bank in the summer – following an excellent season at Dagenham & Redbridge in the National League – but the 20-year-old only started five League games for Danny Cowley’s side and looked a pale shadow of the player who starred for the Daggers, before injury curtailed his Imps involvement at the end of October.
In total, he played 14 times for the Imps, scoring twice in the Checkatrade Trophy defeat of Everton – in which he won the Player of the Round award – and now heads off to the Ricoh Arena to help the Sky Blues in their pursuit of promotion back to League One.
Albion under-23 coach Simon Rusk said: ‘Jordan has benefitted from playing in the EFL already this season, and joining Coventry will only add further to his experience. He’s got the chance of helping the club win promotion, and that’s an exciting challenge for Jordan, and something he can learn a lot from. We’ll keep track of his progress and we wish him all the best at Coventry.’
