After 22 years a game between these two sides will be completed. As a team with double everyone else`s average home support they will bring a load and make plenty of noise. So lets get down the Bank the lads will need us.

This year promises a plethora of local foes for us. Complete of course with a 20,000 boxing day atmosphere to savour for the return. If we are in the top 3 by then we`ll take 3-4,000 and by then the young heart to the Mighty Imps will have grown in stature. Lets face it we have a few now who wont look out of place on a higher stage. With our support they will relish these great games and respond with the big performances we know they are capable of.

Potentially these regular spats in bear pits full of passion could lead to a long hard season for us. Many have sited this for London clubs historic failure to win the League (before the Monopoly business approach style whipped the playing rug of fare play from the other 16 clubs of course). The Derby belies league form as pride jostles with ability leading to unpredictable outcomes. Scrappy goals, gutsy performances or the goal to end all goals that silences the other end and sends the victors home in a blaze of bragging right glory.

For attacking sides like the Imps they can be dangerous affairs. For the Kerrs and Hands of this world its all their Christmas`s rolled into one. If the club wants the fans to return then big performances from our 3 carefree young match winners will do it. All are entertainers that excite as soon as they have the ball. Useful unique selling points in an entertainment business Along with Mazza, Stallardicus, Hand, Beevers, Brown Amoo and Moses we`ll at least compete and more than likely win a lot more than we lose. And with Jamie ‘London Buses’ Forrester now getting the ball on the ground we could have three along any time.

Everyone drag a mate down the bank this weekend. It could be the start of something not to mention a terrific start to the weekend.
