Lincoln City 3-1 Sheffield Wednesday: Match Stats & Views From The Forum

Views from PerthImp following Saturday’s 3-1 win at home against Sheffield Wednesday in League One: “FT. Brilliant performance – that’s exactly what we’ve been after for the last few games. Shows this team are up for a relegation fight. Thought everyone played their part superbly 👏👏. Thought Whittaker was a bit soft and slow first half but he was terrific second half, especially defensively. For me Lewis Fiorini was MoM. I know Marquis scored two and BNC played well again and got his first goal for the Imps, but Fiorini, considering what he’s been through the last few weeks and the pressure he must have been under put in a superb performance. He was everywhere, especially second half, and his composure on the ball was outstanding. Very rarely bettered by their midfielders, including Bannan. Well done Imps – the same against Ipswich please 👏👏.”

Chesterimp: “Well, that’s a big, big win.

Anyone coming on here to say stubborn, inflexible Appleton got lucky as plan A finally worked?

Seriously, from the iFollow commentary it sounded like the formation change worked a treat for the players available and against this opposition, wonder if MA will stick with it on Tuesday?

Great stuff lads, well played and well managed.”

Merthyr Imp: “I haven’t felt like watching the iFollow full match replay in recent weeks, but that’s tomorrow afternoon taken care of for me.

Judging by the commentary, although we didn’t make the most of every goalscoring opportunity we did manage take a much greater percentage of chances than we have lately.

And although I think we all would have been well pleased to see Tyler Walker back in January I believe the score now stands at Marquis 5 Walker 0.”

sedgleyimp: “Back at my parent’s home where I’m staying overnight. How good was that today? The home performance that we had been waiting for. Huge credit to the players who were up for it from the start. Credit to MA as well. We wanted a plan B but had convinced ourselves he wouldn’t deviate. Well, he did and it worked a treat. Everything that was lacking last week was there in spades today. Terrific stuff.”
