Following Saturday’s 2-2 draw at home against Blackpool in League One, I asked the Vital Lincoln City members what three things they learned from the match.

You can discuss what has been said in this article HERE, as well as many other topics on our 100% Imps forum! We have also published a Lincoln City v Blackpool Quiz, which can be found just below the three things. Every page view helps raise money for Lincoln City Football Club!

Here’s what Impalex said:

1. As most of my fellow Imps will also have felt the same sinking feeling as Blackpool’s second goal went in, fully expecting another home defeat by any number of goals and looking longingly at the top two teams in League 1, for us to come back from the brink with such an amazing, strong finish complete with two brilliant goals (and nearly a third – Jackson’s header) indicated to me that this team IS NOT DEAD AND BURIED just yet!

2. Joe Walsh, as has been discussed elsewhere, coming back into the side at this crucial point of the season is a massive boost for the whole team’s confidence. The same will happen again as the likes of Liam Bridcutt, Jorge Grant and Tom Hopper get back up to full fitness. At last, we may be able to stop conceding so many goals and begin scoring more (thanks to Anthony Scully et al) thereby finishing the season strongly.

3. Michael Appleton knew that he’d have to use all his substitutes to share the burden and it clearly worked. I fully expected us to tire as the game progressed yet quite the opposite happened. Surely that must be down to the background staff such as the medical team, coaches etc. That alone indicates that we have a club full of people all pulling in the same direction with the same objective. I am convinced that we will reach the play-offs and that we will be in the ascendancy at that time, becoming the team to beat and the one none of the others will want to face.
