Lincoln City 1-2 Doncaster Rovers: Views & Stats

Views from clanfordimp following the 2-1 defeat at home against Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Trophy: “To be honest I just don’t think it worked for us tonight. We should have won the game comfortably but credit Doncaster they did look a bit more hungry for it than us, especially the last 10 minutes.

The coach picked the team. I know we have to give the lads game time but maybe the team he selected didn’t work, but then again that’s when he finds out about attitude and desire no matter how significant or insignificant the game is.

The new guy was the only person to come out with any credit for me. The rest were just very, very average and some were worse than average.”

hulloutpost: “Well……Donny had a go and we folded like the proverbial deck of. Nobody really shouting out for getting a start or looked like securing a starting position. Very poor game management and looked leggy, weak in too many areas.”

libertine: “Eyoma, Walsh, Robson, Sanders, Oakley-Boothe, Garrick and Hopper are all first teamers. Jackson and Vernam should be capable of being first-teamers. That is not good enough against the reserves of a mid-table league 2 team.”

Scotimp: “There was no spark, no pace generated anywhere. Sideways, backwards, sideways again, all at walking pace. Sorry to harp on again, but if midfield is football’s engine room, our big end has gone.”
