Lincoln City 1-1 Plymouth Argyle: Views & Stats

|

Views from imps_joe following the 1-1 draw at home against Plymouth Argyle in League One: “What a great match. Good atmosphere and entertaining football well worth the money.

Would have happily taken a draw before the match, but the win was there for the taking. I know they had injuries but they weren’t as good as I was expecting.

That 2nd half 15-20 minutes was a complete bombardment. Need to start taking some of our chances, does feel like we are missing a goal scorer. Unfortunately, all our attacking option alternatives are injured so we couldn’t really make any changes. Nevertheless, some cracking performances today. Cracking number of away fans, very impressive, but oddly subdued.

Gives me a lot more hope for the rest of the season.”

More views from our Match Thread:

PerthImp: “That was a breathtakingly awesome game of football. Unlucky not to win – we had the chances – but we fully deserved at least a point. Brilliant. Nothing more to say.”

Chesterimp: “Excellent game and a good result, enough chances to have won but could easily have lost.

Is this how MK wants the team to play? Fast and vibrant pressing, some good moves and sustained pressure at times against the league leaders. It’s doing that match after match that’s the challenge, and if they achieve that we’ll finish comfortably up the table.”

Huntsward: “The fact the league leaders were playing for time for a fair chunk of the second half tells you all you need to know about our performance and the threat we put them under

A cracking performance all round but Sanders was outstanding. That’s the sort of performance many had hoped he was capable of but was yet to unleash. Let’s hope we see more of that and that becomes his standard

Of course, we’d have all taken a point beforehand, but there’s disappointment in that we were probably deserving of all three.”

sedgleyimp: “That was a very entertaining afternoon down at The Bank. A terrific game of football with an excellent performance by us an a more than decent point gained. We were the better team on the day and that wasn’t because they were poor. They showed that they are a good team yet we went toe to toe with them and probably deserved the three points over the course of the game.

My MOM was as per the sponsors in Max Sanders. Both him and Matty Virtue were superb today and perhaps showed that our central midfield just might be good enough when they think about playing it forward.

I think that even of Plymouth had snatched a win at the death today, the team would still have had a standing ovation from the crowd. Really enjoyed that game today.”
