Lincoln City 0-2 Oxford United: Post-Match Views & Stats

Views from PerthImp following Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat at home versus Oxford United in League One: “Thoroughly good performance from Oxford and they’ll be up there at the end. Poor night for us. We just look so jaded and could really do with a full week off to recharge properly. As long as we have two games a week we’ll not recover properly and there will be more performances like this. Nobody played well and when they did get into decent positions didn’t have the energy or skill to take advantage of it. Sean Roughan needs a break as he looks thoroughly out of form. Sorensen has lacked energy since his epic Charlton performance and needs a break. Perhaps we can give players a bit of a break for the two cup games. See Tyler Walker is back on the grass so hopefully a couple of weeks and we’ll see him off the bench. Still up there so not all bad news. Not sure anyone deserves the MoM nomination – can’t think of anyone at all that had a decent performance.”

imps_joe: “Well can’t argue with that at all. Oxford deserved winners and they did at walking pace in the end, they won’t have many easier games. Yet despite this two very avoidable goals.

They look a very good side and superior to us in ever department.

Bit of a shame for Tom, but that sort of performance will likely end any chance he had of taking the role permanently.

Very tough watch, but you can’t win them all.”

Scotimp: “Really don’t know what to say. Started with the wrong set-up, failed to change it all evening, stood off them, running in treacle… that was as bad as anything we have produced for years. Attendance was worrying, barely 7000 even with a decent Tuesday turnout from Oxford.

Time for an appointment, methinks.”
