Three goals over two legs on national TV have put Hughesie in the shop Window. The sky blues from Coventry have eyed him on the Sky from Rupert, and are poised to interrupt the Eagles final dive to gather their prey

Alas, much as some of Hughes` sublime strikes stick in the memory of a great season we appear to be resigned to loosing him. Perhaps it is the realism of Imp psyche that makes this easier to accept or perhaps not. For perhaps it would be better for him and us if he moved to a less physical division? We need players and Deehan funds to deal, if we are to progress. So it is not surprising that it is not just the Eagles who have swooped.

Now if two clubs are interested in him that will be good news for us. Lets face it at 500 grand we would be happy. Palace have tabled three we have countered, Coventry are at the table too. With Coventry and Palace both on a mission to the 40 million promised land the price may even top the half a million currently being touted. Personally I put him at about 600 -700 at this rate. And that would be good business for all. Jeff`s limitations are League 2 swamps in January and February combined with thugs. He won`t have that in the Championship. There is no place there for kick and rush hoofball. With good service his new club should see 15 goals from him atop his creativeness that flings open defensive doors for forwards.

Duck here come the numbers
Jeff began his career as a youngster with Lame and then spent two years with Ballymean United before returning to his hometown team where he was called up for the Northern Ireland under-19 squad after some impressive displays for the club.
