Following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at home against Cambridge United in Sky Bet League Two, we asked our members what three things they learned from the match.

Here’s what NottyImp said:

1. DC/NC have a well-rehearsed plan for when we go down to 10 men. The subs came quickly and I agreed with both of them. The result was we kept the Us out and garnered a point from what became a-more-difficult-than-expected game.

2. John Akinde divides opinion. Boy, does he divide opinion! It will be interesting to see how this one develops over the season. As the entirely ridiculous detractors of Tom Pett now realise, judging a player before he is fully on “Cowley-method” is fraught with difficulty.

3. Referees in League Two can be rubbish too. I actually don’t think that, overall, they’re much better than the Conference. When we occasionally get a top Ref, you really notice the difference. Whatever can be done to improve Refs should be. they’re too important not be properly funded and paid.
