Lincoln brushed aside their recent worries by coming from behind to wallop Barnet 4-1 at Sincil Bank.

Imps boss Keith Alexander was naturally delighted with the display from his embattled troops as they capped a chaotic fortnight with their biggest win of the season.

?It has been a difficult couple of weeks, but football is all about the players and they have knuckled down well and got a result which we deserved,? said Alexander.

I was very pleased with the performance and it was good to score a few goals in front of the home fans. We passed the ball around well at times and had that little bit of luck which we have been missing.?

The Imps fell behind after 13 minutes when Guiliano Grazioli raced clear of the City defence and fired past goalkeeper Alan Marriott.

Marriott then kept City in the match, saving from Grazioli and Paolo Vernazza as the visitors threatened to run riot.

But Alexander?s men weathered the storm and grabbed an equaliser just before the break through Simon Yeo, making his first outing at Sincil Bank since rejoining the club.

Yeo took aim just inside the Bees penalty area and his shot deflected off defender Ian Hendon and flew past the stranded Ross Flitney.

City came out for the second-half looking like men possessed, and eventually took the lead in the 63rd minute, with Jamie McCombe heading home Dean Keates? pinpoint cross.

And they stamped home their authority with two goals in a three-minute blast.

Marvin Robinson claimed his seventh goal of the season, with a brilliant strike. After tearing down the left wing, he turned his marker inside out before unleashing a 20-yard shot that flew in off the post.

And to rub Barnet?s noses in it, less than two minutes later Scott Kerr saw his intended cross to Robinson evade the frontman only to bounce into the corner of Flitney?s net.

Afterwards, Alexander reserved praise for Yeo after he notched his second goal in three games.

?Simon Yeo has now got two goals in three games for us, he should have had a couple more last week, but that?s what we need as a side,? Alexander added.

?Dean Keates put a quality ball in for the second goal and Jamie McCombe did well with he header, he has not scored for a while.

?I was about to take Marvin Robinson off when he got the third. It was a good effort and he worked really hard. He was in the box for the fourth and they were looking at him when Scott Kerr put the cross in.?

And Bees boss Paul Fairclough summed it up perfectly when he admitted: “In the second-half Lincoln tore us to shreds. We ended up literally being mauled. If we’d have played 10 minutes longer the result would have been even worse for us.”
