Imps face Stags in an early season must-win for Lincoln

After a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Shrewsbury on Saturday and the 4-1 romping defeat thanks to Doncaster in the cup the pressure is on John Scohfields shoulders to deliver a win. Field Mill last season saw the Imps deliver a 4-2 win with Forrester netting all four goals however the last 27 games held at Field Mill has ended in 12 wins for Mansfield with Lincoln only winning 7 of the games and drawing 8.

So far this season Mansfield have had an impressive draw against Brentford but received a thumping in the cup at home to Oldham losing 4-1.

The team selection from Schofield has caused a stir recently with tension on the terraces growing will he give in to fan pressure and play what the fans want? or stick with Torpey who received one of the biggest boo’s in recent times when he was took off against Doncaster Tuesday night.

Vital Quotes:

‘Individual mistakes cost us the goal. One minute we seemed to have it sorted out and the next we are making errors again. We just have to stick at it now and turn it round.’

– John Schofield after the Doncaster match hoping individual mistakes wont cost them again on Saturday

‘The result won’t harm us – we lost 4-0 at home to Huddersfield and that didn’t harm us at Brentford. We will take the positives out of it.’

– Masfield boss Dearden insisting letting in 4 goals in the last game will not effect his team this Saturday

Mansfield Town Team News:

Mansfield are not expected to make any changes from the side that drew with Brentford with the only doubts being highly rated defender Baptiste and Winger and one time Imps target Hamshaw.
