The Imps made their second move this summer on Wednesday afternoon, following up the acquisition of attacking midfielder Karl Ledsham with 21-year-old striker Jordan Burrow.

The 6ft 1in striker began his career at Chesterfield, signing for Morecambe and then Stevenage following a brief loan spell at Boston United. He brings over fifty Football League appearances to the table and is described as a strong forward who often plays with his back to goal.

Gary Simpson had made it a priority to bring in another forward to partner Ben Tomlinson and it looks like he has got his man in Burrow, who will be expected to take on the mantle of Delano Sam-Yorke and bring players like Tomlinson and new signing Ledsham into play as much as possible.

The only concern would be Burrow’s scoring record. The Sheffield-born forward scored just seven league goals in his three seasons at Morecambe and Stevenage but clearly Gary Simpson has seen something in the youngster, awarding him a 2 year deal at the club. That ought to be a pretty good sign having moved for star players Sean Newton and Ben Tomlinson on multi-year contracts last summer!
