Imps Pay County Cup Penalty.

A stronger than expected Imps select were beaten on penalties by an O`Connorless Scunthorpe. Given the negativity at the moment we will not go into the significance of this game in our birth as a football club. Despite receiving a bye due to it being our 125th anniversary, as well as a discount down to a fiver, the fixture attracted a mere 452 due to the Imps failing to field a first 11.

In the 16th minute Captain Oakes sent in a peach of a ball to completely wrong foot the Iron defence. Hutchinson got on the end of it to head home. Hutchinson and Oakes had superb games, as did Nathan Adams who saw a 25-yarder fizz 6 inches over the bar. We were undone with the last kick of the game as Ben May finished a scrappy melee. Well I say the last kick of the game, quite why the referee played 6 minutes of injury time given 4 were put up on the board only he would know. So penalties it was:-
