Lincoln City put the last remaining unbeaten record in the Football League on the line as they entertain the MK Dons at Sincil Bank on Saturday.

Not only have John Schofield’s men yet to suffer a League defeat, but they are also the highest scorers in the League, with 17 goals.

But they face probably their sternest test against Martin Allen’s highly-fancied side and their promotion credentials will very much be laid on the line come 3pm tomorrow.

Will City be up to the task?

Vital Quotes:

John Schofield, Lincoln head coach:

In terms of what we are going to face, you could say it’s going to be one of the toughest – if not the toughest – game we will play all season.

‘But, if we are on top of our game, we can give anyone a game — regardless of who is on their squad list.’

Lincoln City Team News:

The Imps are expected to be unchanged from the side that beat Macclesfield in midweek, with Nicky Eaden again preferred to Ryan Amoo on the right-hand side of midfield.

Gary Birch (knee) and Nat Brown (wrist) are again the only absentees.

Player to watch: Jamie Forrester

The former Scunthorpe striker has been immense for the Imps this season, scoring four and setting up another seven – expect him to run the show again against the men from Milton Keynes.

MK Dons Team News:

Leading scorer Izale McLeod returns for Martin Allen’s men after serving a three-match ban for a sending off at Boston last month.

Gary Smith (knee) and Craig Morgan (broken nose) will be absent through injury, but Leon Crooks could be involved from the start after starting on the bench in midweek.

There may be surprise inclusion for former Leicester midfielder Junior Lewis, with the development coach on standby just in case.

Player to watch: Izale McLeod

As a teenage striker with Derby a few years ago, McLeod was tipped for greatness – but just two years after leaving the Rams, the Birmingham-born frontman finds himself in the basement division with the Dons.

He netted 18 goals last season as the Dons suffered relegation and he surprised many by staying with the Milton Keynes club in the summer when the vultures were circling.

He returns to the Dons side tomorrow after a ban and the City defence will have to be on their toes to keep him at bay.
