“I didn’t rate him in midfield, but last night he was class.”

Views from bbh 11 following last night’s 3-0 win at home against Rotherham United in the Leasing.com Trophy: “Good night’s entertainment. Connolly was superb, I didn’t rate him in midfield, but last night he was class, as has been said Melbourne had a good game alongside him.

It will be interesting to see if Connolly starts against Gillingham instead of Bolger.

Pett looked lively for his first full game back. Sitting on the front row as opposed to upper 4 it was interesting to see how quick feet Payne has got.

Good to see big John get a couple and interesting to see Anderson run himself into the ground at right-back, unfortunately at the end, he started to make some defensive mistakes, probably because he was mentally and physically cream crackered.”

Which position would you rather see Callum Connolly play?

Impala: “Slightly different formation with Frecks and occassionally Chapman bursting forward from midfield.
Could be a good option and give more strength/bodies in the middle of the park. We are also desperate for more goals from midfield at the moment.

Frecks needs to get up to full match fitness first – fair few fouls conceded last night and would clearly struggle in a faster league game.”

JT_LCFC: “Fantastic effort and able to get minutes to those who needed. The Man Utd game possibly the one, we hat a hatful of chances first half.

We aren’t a bad team you know…”

sedgleyimp: That was a fantastic team performance and really unlucky that the 4th goal didn’t quite come.

Huge morale boost though to get a great win under our belts.

Every player did well which will give MA some selection considerations for Saturday.

Gotta mention Connelly at the back whose positional sense and timing of the tackles in the second half were superb.”
