The good news ahead of the away game at Stockport is that the defence appears to be the priority and former Colchester United defender Stephen Hunt has been signed on one month loan from Notts County.

This dispels rumours that Notts County were blocking moves for their players and with another possible permanent signing in the offing the defense may at last be on the mend.

Southampton born Hunt will probably go straight into the side for the big six-pointer clash at Edgeley Park tomorrow and it is likely he will be playing at centre back alongside Danny Hone although Adam Watts may also be in the frame if he has recovered from his injury.

Hunt started his career at his home town team of Southampton but never featured for the Saints and in 2004 moved to Colchester United. His career at Colchester got of to a strange start when he was sent off after only 59 seconds on his debut against Chesterfield.

His chances at Colchester were slim and after only 22 appearances he was sold to Notts County in 2006. Since then the versatile 26 year old defender has gone on to make 116 appearances for the Magpies playing at both centre back and left back.

He joins former team mates Jamie Clapham and Delroy Facey as the Imps hope to move off the bottom of the League table. Hopefully he will add a bit of bite to the City defence which has conceded 10 goals in January.
