Daggers 3 Lincoln City 0

TWO goals from Jon Nurse saw Daggers sweep to a fine victory over Lincoln City on Saturday.

Nurse struck after 13 minutes, slotting past Rob Burch after bursting through the defence, before he diverted Mark Arber’s header into the net in the second period.

Danny Green doubled the advantage on 56 minutes, picking up possession inside the area and curling a glorious shot into the top corner.

LINCOLN CITY turned in a pitiful performance at Dagenham this afternoon as they crashed to a 3-0 defeat in the capital.

The Imps simply failed to turn up for the League Two clash in east London and fell behind to Jon Nurse’s first-half strike.

Danny Green then made it 2-0 in the second half with a terrific strike which prompted a momentary chorus of ‘Jackson out’ from the travelling band of fans.

City failed to seriously test Tony Roberts in the Dagenham goal and Nurse made it 3-0 when a header from Mark Arber was turned in by the striker.

Lincoln were booed off at the final whistle and will need to drastically improve against Darlington in the Johnstone Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.

Imps fans round on Jackson in loss

Manager Peter Jackson faced calls to resign from his own supporters after Lincoln fell to a 3-0 defeat against Dagenham & Redbridge.

The Imps supporters chanted for Jackson to quit during and after the match, in which his side were second best for long periods.

The recalled Jon Nurse put Daggers ahead after 13 minutes, bursting through the defence to blast the ball past goalkeeper Rob Burch.

It should have been 4-0 at the break, but Paul Benson missed a howler, knocking the ball over the bar from a mere two yards out after fine work by Josh Scott.

Nurse and Stuart Thurgood both hit the crossbar in the first half too, with Nurse’s towering header clipping the woodwork, and Thurgood’s cross rebounding off the top of the bar.

Danny Green doubled the advantage after 56 minutes, curling a peach of a strike beyond Burch after he was left completely unmarked in the area.

Nurse then completed the scoring after 71 minutes, as he prodded home Mark Arber’s header from eight yards out.

Lincoln rarely threatened throughout, as they were outplayed all over the pitch, and Rene Howe’s second-half drive that flashed wide of the post was the sum of their opportunities.
