Imps boss Keith Alexander has continued to rummage through the bargain basement by handing a trial to defender Jude Stirling.

The defender, who can play either right-back or in the centre of defence, is currently without a club after being released by Oxford United earlier this week and he will line up for City?s second string against Doncaster this afternoon.

The 23-year-old only joined the Kassam Stadium outfit in the summer from Tamworth, following a successful trial period, but he?s only started eight times this season and has failed to sufficiently impress United manager Brian Talbot.

He started his career at Luton before dropping out of the League, enjoying stints at Stevenage, St Albans, Dover and Tamworth before being ?rescued? by Talbot. Now he will be out to impress Alexander and earn a deal at Sincil Bank.
