Following Saturday’s 2-0 win at home against Carlisle United in the Second Round of The Emirates FA Cup, we asked our members what three things they learned.
Here’s what NottyImp said:
1. You write Matt Rhead off at your peril. Excellent goal and a great battling performance that set us on the path to victory. What we haven’t learnt is whether or not Matt has 50 goals for the Imps yet!
2. Andrade is a constant threat going forward when given the ball. He’s a quality winger with excellent delivery and he makes goals for fun when given the chance. However, his defensive positioning needs some work because, at times, Carlisle were able to stroll down our left side. Contrast this with the work of Anderson and Eardley on the right. Having said that, it’s no bad thing trading off defensive efficacy against a significant attacking threat.
3. The team are obviously capable of working on weaknesses and improving them. The throw-ins and set-pieces have got significantly better over the last few weeks and we looked dangerous from them again, even though a goal didn’t come directly from a re-start.
Thank you to Graham Burrell and Lincoln City Football Club for the photograph!
