Views from Snats following last night’s 2-2 draw at home against Carlisle United in Sky Bet League Two: “We missed Shackell really badly tonight. The defence seemed to lack leadership and obviously losing Eardley didn’t help either. Struggled with playing it out from the back too although the lack of pitch irrigation has obviously played a part in that.

Freck’s absence is keenly felt as well. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves for the stability he brings to the midfield. We’ve been getting overrun in the centre of the park these last two games and really need him back ASAP.

I know we got out of the National League without a prolific goalscorer, but we can’t do it again. Surely it’s time to give Matt Green a start?”

More views from the Match Thread:

JT_LCFC: “Disappointing in the sense with these two home games we had a chance of pulling clear.

Clear to see we are missing Shackell at the back he’s been colossal.”

berksimps: “Oh dear, poor second half from City, barely tested their keeper. Too much long ball. Carlisle played well, Nadesan was the standout player on the night.

Still top though.”

Scotimp: “Just to remind the doom merchants, Carlisle have the third best away record in L2 this season despite losing to Macclesfield. They were always likely to raise their game tonight.”

Thank you to Graham Burrell and Lincoln City Football Club for the photograph!
