Following the launch of the Club’s new kit on Friday, a Fans’ Forum took place in the Travis Perkins Suite exclusively for Season Ticket Holders.

Present: Lee Beevers, David Preece, Alan Power & Paul Farman.

Updates from the meeting below:

– Liam Hearn wasn’t able to make it. He is moving house today.

Beevers: To get out of this league we’ll need a lot of luck along the way. We need to get everyone behind us and come out of the other side.

He doesn’t see why we can’t win promotion.

Farman: Spoke to Moyses about a new deal and it was sorted within 24 hours. He just wants to be here.

Power: Put a great mix together. Youth and experience. Thought it was important that we do that for next Season.

Preece: Chris wanted to bring in the right sort of character. It wasn’t just about having a squad of grafters, but also the right skill set.

Chris has brought in players that have been successful elsewhere.

Thinks we have a real good mix.

Power: Has to take a look at his discipline. It would be difficult to take it out of his game completely. Red cards aren’t acceptable.

Q: I think the Squad looks a bit thin, are we looking at other players?

Preece: We have a few coming in on trial during pre-season and there are one or two that they don’t know much about.

We want a squad with better quality.

Better to have 18-19 quality players on a decent wage than 25 on low wages.

Farman: We want to be going into every game wanting to beat them.

Teams that have come down have signed some good players.

Q for Farman: Was there something that changed when he went away on loan to Boston? (Point: He came back a better player)

Farman: Spent a lot of time working with Preece. He went to Boston to get games. Doesn’t really know what changed.

Q: Who has got the worst haircut at the Club?

Farman: Rhead.

Q: Who will you miss the most out of the players that have left?

Farman: Good friends with Tomlinson and Jordan. Gets on with everyone, so it would be unfair to name people.

Power: Burrow – Didn’t talk to him when he first signed but he grew closer to him as the Season went on. Thinks he wanted to impress too much.

Preece: Newton – He now has no one to argue with in training. Used to fall out quite a lot.

Q: Who are you most looking forward to playing alongside?

Beevers: Hard to pick out one person because they haven’t worked together as a team yet.

Q: Is Bencherif still with us?

Preece: At the moment he is not. He is currently in France. Chris is the only person that has spoken to him since the end of last Season.

Q: What can us as supporters do?

Farman: Got to be 12th Man. Coming out in front of a big crowd makes a huge difference.

Preece: Moyses knows a lot of people and there is a lot of interest. There is a bit of belief that we can do well, not just hope.

Q: Have we got any links with Clubs other than Birmingham?

Preece: There are a few Clubs that Moyses has been talking to. Went to watch Spurs development squad last season.

Don’t learn a lot about players when they are playing at U21 level, so they want players out on loan on FL and Conference Clubs.

We are getting a good reputation for helping develop young players that come in on loan.

It is important for the Club to build good relationships with other clubs, not rely on individuals and their contacts.

Thinks we need 2-3 to come through our own youth system every season and hopefully at least 1 of them turns into a quality player.

When Moyses came in Everington wasn’t even training with the first team.

Q: Do you think an attacking coach would be beneficial?

Preece: At the bigger Clubs you can have coaches for each position.

It is more difficult here. We are looking to train more. We will make sure we get more out of the players this Season.

Q: What do players do during the summer to keep fit? And do you enjoy pre-season?

Power: Doesn’t enjoy pre-season. We have breaks and time to chill but also do things to remain fit.

Q: Do you have any phobias?

Power: Water. Hates getting his hair wet!

Farman’s partner He never used to talk to anyone for 2 days when he’d let a goal in, but now he has grown up a bit now!

Power’s partner: He sings to Eminem in the shower very loud.

Q: Are you still registered as a player?

Preece: Won’t be next Season.

Q: Who would represent success next Season?

Preece: Success is promotion. Even getting to a play-off final and losing isn’t success. We have to go for promotion, otherwise there is no point bothering.
