In the build up to Lincoln’s trip to The National Hockey Stadium, Keith Alexander’s plea to release Gareth McAuley from Northern Ireland’s squad has fallen on deaf ears as Lawrie Sanchez has exercised his right to keep the player in the squad to face Portugal. The 25 year old defender will therefore remain on international duty.
The only other worry for the Imps boss is Dean Keates who is serving the second of a three match ban which he picked up in the first FA Cup first round stale mate against MK Dons.
Jamie McCombe has returned from a two month absence and could deputise for McAuley.
The match kicks off tonight at 7.45pm. The match ref Michael Jones will see in extra time and penalties if the game isn’t decided after 90 minutes as the tie has to be decided tonight.
Admission is not all-ticket but visitors must buy tickets in advance of the match as no cash admissions via the turnstiles will be allowed. Adults: £10, Concessions: £5, Children: £1. Red Imps Travel Section coaches, meanwhile, will depart Sleaford at 3.15pm and Sincil Bank at 4pm. Tickets cost £12.
