He received an average rating of 3.83 following the 2-1 defeat away at Rotherham United last season. Some of the comments can be found below:

plumbob: “4/10 Thought he was poor. Maybe he was trying to let some stuff go but he was so inconsistent in doing so. All but gave us a free kick first before waving play-on, probably because he realised he might have to send their lad off. Repaid us with a more blatant one in the second half. The lino at our end was just a complete ****ing imbecile. No idea how many times he missed the ball going out right under his nose. Missed offsides and fouls right in front of him. However, not biased, just useless!”

LA_Imp: “4 appalling not to book their forward form his “challenge” on Wright. I might be being a bit generous.”

hulloutpost: “Watching live, I don’t think he even spoke to him. He was that far behind play I have little doubt he actually knew what had happened.

He certainly wasn’t going to get any help from the useless lino who on a couple of occasions didn’t even spot the ball had clearly gone out of play (not even marginal) amongst other strange (non) decisions.”

Andy Haines was the man in the middle for a total of 34 matches. In those matches, he showed 96 yellow cards and 1 red card.

He was most card happy in the League Two encounter between Walsall and Barrow (2-2) when he showed 7 yellow cards, including a booking for former Imps loanee Patrick Brough.

During the 2020/21 season, Haines oversaw 29 matches, showing 70 yellow cards and 4 red cards.

He was just a little card happy in the League Two match between Barrow and Leyton Orient (1-1), showing 10 yellow cards and 1 red card.
