Vic Erzantarz rang current Chairman Geoff Adams for a chat and was given the exclusive golden nugget today…. and forget the Market Rasen earthquake last year, this one shook Vital Towers to the very ground.

Cod Almighty – Ex Imp Co Chairman Ray Trew will become a chairman of Sincil Bank again when OOH Lincoln plays Grimsby Town in the County Cup final on May 2nd.

Geoff will hand the chairmanship of the club over to Ray Trew with a handshake on the day of the cup final with all the attendant local and national media there but will not be stepping down from a club he helped to build.

“I’ll still be acting as press officer etc for the club, but the structure is changing. I’m handing the chairmanship of the club in it’s present form over to Ray. After that the club will be taken over by a company with Ray the majority shareholder, and Chairman. Luke Negus-Hill will be the Chief Exec, Fiona Green commercial, Geoff Adams Press and Media, Rod Wilson manager. This will tie in with the Franchise we must take from the FA to enter the Super League.”

Geoff will still be there to keep his finger on the pulse of a club just about to go Global in media and footballing respects.

“On my side, I have set up a partnership with the University of Lincoln, whereby their 3rd year undergrad and MA Journalism students will be doing TV, other broadcast and press work for the club under my stewardship as part of their course – anything that is distributed from them to the various press and media for broadcast and publication will go through me first. This will form part of the partnership agreement with the Uni.

Geoff`s vision will however take the University and its magnificent media facilities to exciting new highs and horizons.

“It is possible that some England Youth internationals or even older players who want a career outside of football in the future we sign will do journalism courses with Uni of Lincoln in cooporation with the club under my stewardship. There may well be bursaries involved to pay for their tuition – this has yet to be bottomed out, but I hope will form part of the partnership with the Uni.

A true Gentleman, Geoff Adams said of the handover:

‘I’m absolutely delighted to be handing the chairmanship of the club over to Ray Trew! He has been and continues to be a fantastic sponsor of the club and it is down to him that our club was able to make a successful bid to join the Super League, and become one of the top 8 clubs in the country, playing in the new televised elite summer league. I have worked for a long time to get the club to this position, and am delighted to be able to hand over to Ray, who is the right person to now take the club on to even more success. I believe this transition will see Lincoln Ladies achieve both domestic and European success, and will eventually see us become the top club in the country. I thank Ray for all he has done for the club during my chairmanship, and I wish him and the club every success for the future under his chairmanship.’

This is typical of Geoff who will remain with the club in the professional role of press and media officer. We wish him good luck academically, and of course as a shareholder of the new company that will take the club over when it enters the new FA Women’s Super League.
