Lincoln City’s Saturday clash, the return fixture with Makkklesfield, takes on added poignancy.
The dramatic news that the Lord of the Imps is suffering from throat cancer, has hit home hard. Albeit might be that his illness has been caught, near enough as it started and has one of the best cure rates possible, it nevertheless is very serious and this writer, the Club, all of Impdom and, it would seem, football supporters in general, stand together in our best wishes for the big man.

At home we dominate proceedings, having W 7 D 3 and only L 1.
Away from home The Moss Rose outfit lost their tenuous edge a few days ago, as City recorded a 2 v 1 win.
We have now W 11 D 8 L 5 overall. Whilst goals still haven’t flown for either team, City outscore Makkklesfield 30 v 21 in the 24 meetings.
Makkk’s form has not progressed since that meeting, ours, on the other hand, has gone on improving and we now sit on top of the recent form table.

For the Imps, Frecktanian has gone full circle since, is now injured again and will not feature. However, Shane Clark and LJL are again in contention as will be Paul Green who came back from suspension last match. Whether Jamie Hand comes back to the fold is debatable but no one, as yet, has an inkling of what has gone on to exclude him totally.

Makkk have doubts over Martin Gritton (hamstring) while Levi Ried will return from suspension.

City should be able to see off the Silkmen, given improved form, home advantage and what is now the hugely increased need to ‘do it for the Gaffer’.
It is also up to the fans young and old to do their bit and ‘lift the roof’, to let Jacko know how we feel about him.
