It was a short and sweet press conference yesterday ahead of Saturday’s match with Morecambe, with several subjects touched upon without Danny Cowley expanding into too much detail.

Morecambe: Necessary to back up the win against Stevenage with a home win to consolidate the value from that victory. Morecambe repeatedly show their resilience year on year with Jim Bentley deserving much praise for overcoming the barriers to what he needs to do without fail every season. It will be necessary to play with energy and intensity but balance that with maintaining control and patience.

Injuries: Physical game last week but players appear to have come through that and everyone hopefully to be available and that may include Josh Vickers who has been training this week.

Transfer Window: DC does not intend to miss out during the window having invested a lot of time and effort preparing for it. He certainly expects rivals MK, Colchester, Mansfield and Bury to be well positioned with a view to significant improvement. The first aim is to try and not lose key players but also to add to the group. Budget wise pre-season the best usage was identified as running with a squad of 15/16 permanent signings backed up by 5/6 loans. He was relaxed about the loan player situation reminding the assembled press of his regular open communications with the parent clubs.

Miscellaneous: We are in a good period of Sat. to Sat. games which is helpful ahead of the busy Christmas period to come.
